9/27/2023 0 Comments Dungeon lords editor![]() Its not that i am against such pratices since every fantazy has similar thing that inherently makes that world unlivable (d&d has undead spectres that whenever they touch someone they turn into same spectre, meaning no population center can survive and they are like cr7). Common people have no chance against them. Regular minbroods dont know they are mindbroods, they eat then they spread. No spiders in populated areas and one mindbrood (forgot the name at first its the same as pod people in horror movies) in a populated area and that populated area is gone. You make good points, but imho its not enough. The people in power don't want the true church restored after all. Very few receive the greater blessings, because very few follow the right paths of progression. They come up with brutal plans and measures in the name of "the greater good", the church morphs into the militant church and the light is mostly squeezed out of its own church. They aren't initialized deeply in the light arts, but hands and minds are needed. ![]() Meanwhile Murmmur's servants rise in rank. In a very real way it would serve to prove Murmur's point, namely that goodness and kindness are flawed concepts that brings low the people that believe in them. Their unwillingness to kill innocents on mere suspicion would have allowed the plague to grow uncontrollably while their numbers dropped steadily from the fighting. Murmur would have known that the best of the priesthood and the knights would throw themselves into the fray. So what could Murmur do to get his people into positions of power? Unleashing a plague of technically neutral monsters immune to the powers of the light seems like a really grand, evil idea. People that wanted power, but weren't in a position to affect things and wouldn't be in the future. I think we can safely assume Murmur always had some servants within the church, probably low ranking ones that weren't initialized in the dark arts and therefore could go unnoticed. ![]() Infiltrating and corrupting the old church into the militant church on the other hand would be right up Murmur's alley. His new mindbroods just haven't been arund for that long, and the old version wasn't capable of much thought, let alone keeping a charade going for years. I think its unlikely for Sephar to have someone highly placed in the church already. It seems like the kind of thing Murmur would love. One paladin in the last half century has been blessed with the signature weapon of the goddess, and that paladin was punished for showing leniency towards dark creatures - maybe our heroes are grossly misinterpreting the desires of the light? It wouldn't surprise me the least to learn the Dark is in control of both the kingdom and the Dungeon Lords. I also hope we finally get some clarification on what is happening on the light side. Hogbus could have his own arsenal that is far more effective against natural creatures and beasts. He might be a good patron for the fight against the mindbroods, considering they are immune to many of the weapons of the light and the dark. It doesn't hurt that Jeff Hays played the voices brilliantly.Ĭaring as well, for his chosen people, but not to the point where he steps in to solve all their problems. Heck in my opinion other than the ending, the best part about book 4 was the dialpgue between Edward and both the Boatman and Hogbus.
